Pace is an iPhone app published by Anthony Labs LLC ("we", "us", "Anthony Labs"). This policy explains what information the Pace app and the Pace pages on anthonylabs.net handle, and how. If you have questions, email hello@anthonylabs.net.
Pace runs the same timer on several people's phones at once. That only works if there is an account behind each person, so unlike some of our other apps there is no anonymous mode. You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google. We never see or store a password. The sign-in happens with Apple or Google, and we receive only the result.
From that sign-in we store:
Pace keeps your content in Google Cloud Firestore, part of Firebase, on servers in the United States. That includes:
We hold this so the app can work across the devices and people who share a folder. We do not mine it, profile you with it, or use it to advertise.
This is the part worth reading twice, because it is the part sharing actually changes.
When you join or are added to a folder, the other members of that folder can see your display name and the email address on your account, alongside the plans and sessions in that folder. Your name sits next to your actions so a coach or an organiser can tell two people apart. Folder owners can additionally see the member list for folders they own.
People outside a folder cannot see any of it. Your account profile is not public, there is no directory, and there is no way to look somebody up. A folder is reached only by an owner sharing its code with you, and an owner can remove a member at any time.
If you would rather other members did not see a real address, sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email. The relay address is then genuinely all that exists on our side to show them.
When a step begins or ends, Pace sends a notification to each phone that should hear it. These go through Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple's Push Notification service. To do that we store a push token for each of your devices, and we remove it when you sign out or delete your account.
Where you have turned on alarms, Pace also uses Apple's AlarmKit and Live Activities to show and sound a timer on your Lock Screen. Those are handled on your device by iOS.
Pace Essentials is sold through the Apple App Store. We never see your card details. Apple takes the payment and tells us only whether a subscription is active.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription state. RevenueCat receives your Pace account identifier and the purchase information from Apple, and tells our server whether you are entitled. It does not receive your plans, your sessions, or the content of anything you have made. You can read their practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Pace uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used and where it can be better. This collects:
It does not include the content of what you make: not the names of your plans or steps, not the text you write in them, not who is in a folder with you, and not your email address. We use it in aggregate, to decide what to build and to find what is broken.
Pace does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not share analytics data with advertisers. You can read Google's practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
The Pace pages on anthonylabs.net use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages people read. That is a separate measurement from the app's, described above.
We rely on a small number of companies to run Pace, and they process data on our behalf:
We keep your account and content until you delete them. Deleting a plan or a folder removes it. Deleting your account removes your profile, your devices and the folders you own, along with the plans and sessions inside them. So if you own a folder other people rely on, hand it over first. Backups may persist for a short period before they age out.
You can change your display name, leave a folder, remove a member from a folder you own, turn notifications off, or delete your account outright, all from inside the app. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected, or to have it erased. Email hello@anthonylabs.net and we will help.
Pace is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Plans about a child, such as a school run, a practice or a bedtime routine, are written and held by the adult whose account it is.
Access to your data is controlled by server-side security rules: a folder's contents can only be read by its members, and your account profile can only be read by you. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. No system is perfect, and we don't claim otherwise.
If we make material changes to how Pace handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
